I don't have anything against white nail polish but I am not a fan of "milky" looking nail colours, whether in pale pink or baby blue or white! They just don't look as neat as a nice patent solid polish! Like Candice, I tend to go for shimmery, pearly whites, which also stops them from looking like liquid paper!

In contrast I actually really like the look of white nailpolish. If you dont like the plain look, white polish can be the perfect base for some really great designs. Try googling paint splatter nails and newspaper nails these are great fun and can brighten up the plain white. They'll be sure to get you noticed!

Not a fan. I agree with Mandy, it reminds me of liquid paper.

Love white polish. But you have to be pretty good at applying it. Whites with a shimmer in them are more forgiving and not quite so stark.

Hi Lizzie, I'm a massive white nail polish fan, but there are so many whites you need to avoid. This one looks like it might be alright with lots (I'm talking six or seven) of very thin layers - make you you wait until each layer is COMPLETELY dry before starting on the next. It's a little too milky and not as flat as you'd like. Also, try some off-whites - Essie and OPI both do some gorgeous opaque creamy-white polishes, which are a little more forgiving in application.

It looks like you might need a couple more coats to really make the white 'pop'. At the moment it's looking a little milky and blah.

Hi Lizzie, I am not a huge fan of white nail polish simply because sometimes it can look quite harsh. There are so many great light/pastel shades available that would work perfectly with your skin tone. OPI have a 'try it on' feature on their website where you can select a colour and see what it looks like on. There are so many great colours in the 'nudes/neutrals' section that will have the same light effect as the white but a little softer. Here is the link http://www.opi.net.au/index.shtml
