Thanks Val, This item came from an old ladies garage sale that was local to me in Melbourne. I just hit the jackpot with her because she had lots of old tailored things and I got 3 coats for $10 . Plus she MADE this cape! What a gem of a lady, and a lucky garage sale to find!

yes, i can see how a pencil skirt or jeans would balance things out. will try it.

I have a white wool cape, and I love wearing mine with a pencil skirt. It balances the figure nicely as the top is flared but you have a fitted bottom. i wouldn't wear a cape with a long a-line skirt as it can look a little frumpy. Fitted jeans and boots would look fabulous too!
