First date and clueless!

I have no idea what to wear! I've been on dates before, but this time I'm clueless. I want to be different and classy, yet not looking like I've tried to hard! It's just dinner and a movie. By the way, I'm 16. Thanks :)

Peplum dress on a date?

I am 5'2, dark brown hair, tan skin. Is it okay to wear a peplum dress on a first date. The dress is royal blue, thinking nude heels paired with statement earrings keeping the neckline clean with a nude/tan/creme blazer, some make up nothing heavy though. The date is pretty formal - drinks followed by dinner at a fancy restaurant. The guy I am going on a date with is a friend so I know he appreciates when women dress up and look good. But I wonder if a peplum dress is okay for a date!

What ever should I wear?

I'm going on my first date.. ever. We are climbing a small mountain, on a hot day, then going to see a movie. I have NO idea as to if I should wear athletic clothes, or movie clothes. And I can't change, or else he'll think I'm trying to hard. Is there a way I can mix the two without looking awkward, and still be comfortable?
