Ever since Trinny and Suzannah pronounced that you should avoid wearing colour with black because it "cheapens the colour and makes the black look boring" I've had serious issues when it comes to wearing black!! The only colours I wear it with these days are white/cream, grey or more black (I make the occasional exception for pink). I'd love to know what everyone thinks about this. (And by 'colour' I mean solid colour, eg. black pants with a solid green top).

I posted a pic in the get styled section a few weeks back asking what colour/s to wear with my bright yellow dress and cobalt blue heels. Following everyone's great advice I've been searching high and low for a cobalt bolero with absolutely no luck! So I was thinking, could I get away with a purple bolero, yellow dress and cobalt blue heels? Is that too many different colours at once? And what colour nail polish should I wear? Hot pink jacket - what colour top to wear?
What colour top would you wear with a hot pink jacket? Is colour blocking still around for winter and can those of us over 35 get away with it?!
