New Jeans...
I absolutely hate jean shopping, but as my current nuddies are feeling a bit snug (and worn to death), it's time to get some new jeans. I'm about a size 12 in pants (10 in tops) and am below average height. I can't tear myself away from skinny leg cuts as I like that they look dressier and I can wear long tops with them without looking daggy! I was thinking of trying on Bettina Liano curvy fit jeans...any other suggestions? :)
Levi ID's are definitely my jeans of choice but nobody jeans (sold at live) are quite fabulous as well x
Dear T, as far as I'm concerned if you can find a label that works for you in jeans - stick to it. I absolutely hate jeans shopping as well as I'm not a standard jeans shape; and trying on jeans in a store change room is my idea of hell. I haven't tried any of the new Levis Curve ID styles yet but lots of women comment positively. B PS Mandy, I saw the Kmart jeans on TV - they look good. Obviously they need to complete with the BigW Emerson phenomenon.
Hey again! Today I tried on the new coloured skinny jeans in K mart. They are only $19, and are surprisingly good quality. Awesome colour range too.
I have a pair of black skinny jeans from the Levi Curve ID range, and they have been amazing. I got them snug, they haven't stretched a great deal and they are a good weight/ cut. Definitely worth the extra money. I've also bought cheaper jeans from Target and Big W and they have worn well too, although I anticipate they won't last as long as the Levi's, and they stretched a lot.
J Brand is a great investment for your everyday pair- Also Topshop petite are great value $60 AUD so you can play around with the shades and patterns which is a big trend this year.
I also buy them quite tight to allow for stretch, normally a size smaller. And I wash them in cold ice water once they have stretched to shrink them. Yes I put ice in my washing machine :-) I wish we had more then 500 characters.
I'm a fan of target for jeans. I've tried VERY expensive ones and they stretch out like the rest. I like heavier denim and anywhere that has a length option, I have the opposite problem to you :-) if I find a pair I like, which is so rare I buy 3, 2 in a regular length for flats and 1 in a long length for heels and boots.
I've tried Levi's and they are good, wash and wear well, but I don't like jeans west much, I bought a snug pair a few months ago and after I wore them for a day they stretched so much they were falling off
The skinnies are a regular jean material, whereas the super skinnies have a bit more stretch. The super skinnies are very skinny, they're snug on your leg, whereas the skinnies have a little bit more room. Also, there are the fashion jeans around the store, which vary from store to store, but there will be some skinny styles in there too, often they will have a higher waist for people who don't like their jeans too low. If you have anymore questions let me know, im happy to help! :)
I actually work at Jeanswest, so I know a fair bit about the jeans :) they tend to stretch about half a size, so you're best to buy them snug (but not tight!) so they don't end up miles too big! In terms of fit there are skinnies, and super skinnies in the core range - both sit on the hip not the waist.
If you are in Melbourne, dejour jeans in Brunswick will tailor jeans to fit you perfectly ~ a pair of jeans will cost you between $40 and $60 all up.
Will definitely check out the Jeanswest and Levi ranges! Has anyone got some- how do they wash/wear? No a fan of bardot jeans- I've had a pair before and I was always pulling them up because they stretched so much! Thanks for all the suggestions!
Jeans are by far the most commonly asked question I receive from my clients, so you're not alone. Definately try Jeanswest curve ID range, Nobody Jeans (at 396 Brunswick St Fitzroy or David Jones). Perhaps look at a straight leg jean as they are a good alterrnative to a skinny and can balance out your bodyshape. Good luck. Andi :)
I love Bardot jeans! I always go straight there if I'm after a new pair of jeans. They do stretch like crazy tho, so I buy one size smaller than I normally would be.
I'm a big fan of Levi's and for a cheaper alternative, try Jag (available at Myer) - they have some incredible fits, and a slightly higher mid-waist length will flatter a skinny leg style!
Jeanswest make really good jeans, and the sales staff are always super helpful! They have so many different styles, including skinny and super skinny jeans in their core collection, as well as other skinnies in the fashion jeans. I'd really recommend checking them out, they're super good quality and only $69 for one and either $99 or $109 for two pairs depending if there's a sale! :)
Levi's do some nice jeans, think they are called curve ID, they have a few different fits, for curvey shape, petite, skinny leg etc. you can get them on sale too, there is an outlet at dfo south wharf if you are in Melbourne.
