What should I wear

I would first pop on the shoes you are planning to wear, then judge the length of the top after doing this. As long as it covers your bottom there shouldn't be an issue. I would suggest a fabric that contrasts with the leather. A delicate lace, or silk would look great.

I love leggings with a long jacket (especially in this weather) or one of those slouchy / fluid tops. Either way, you will look stunning!

My friend left home and nearly got on the tram before realising she forgot to put her skirt on. Only had a denim jacket on. Doh. I went through a leggings + stripey jumpers phase not so long ago... ah, so comfy! Yours with leather panels sound uber-stylish. I say get the emerald top anyway, because it sounds fantastic, then if you can't wear the leggings your S&B's sound great. I like the idea of some gold in there somewhere, too... have fun!

Thanks ladies - all great advice, really appreciate it!! So... I'm thinking of a silky emerald green tunic top that I saw at Chaddie yesterday (need to check length though!) and a knock out necklace. Failing that, the emerald green top and a pair of Sass and Bide The Lover jeans, and boots. Delia - that poor woman. Hard to imagine how that could happen - unless she was a busy mum doing a thousand things at once!

It all depends on the look you're trying to achieve; sequins and man style blazer for a big of glam or vintage oversized rocker tee shirt with a rhinestone necklace or a simple baggy white shirt, stunning necklace and long coat, u can even do a bit of juxtapositioning & wear a pretty feminine top. Rule of thumb whatever top you wear make sure it covers your crotch & bum b/c leggings are not pants. hope this helps & have a fun time.

I love leggings with anything baggy and oversized, preferably something that was designed to be oversized rather than something two or three sizes too big. I love a curved hem as well e.g. Slightly shorter that the sides and curved longer in the middle. it's very flattering, it's not a straight line across your widest point (bum, thighs) unfortunately not many designers cut their clothes this way b/c it's not cost effective.

I have heard a story about a business woman who genuinely forgot to put her skirt on when she was going in to big meetings! Seriously! She DID have an overcoat on thankfully. The mind boggles!!!! SO - yes good idea to wear a great top to match your fabulous leggings. I love an oversized knit with leggings and ankle boots for a casual model off duty style. Or a layered shirt and blazer, with heels or boots for a dressier look!

Hi Katie, I love leggings with leather panels they will work with so many different tops in winter. Sportsgirl have some great long shirts at the moment in many different colours. I love combining a leather pant or legging with a long shirt and then a fur vest ( some great faux fur vests available) Or a long blazer would look great with your leggings too, worn with simple top underneath and add a great statement necklace (maybe in a bright colour!)
