Hi, I've been invited to a national safety conference dinner by an insurance company and have no idea what to wear. The invite doesn't have a dress code . Please help!!

Great thanks - I think I'll go for a red pencil skirt with black blouse and black blazer with some chunky jewellry. Thanks for the help - hopefully I manage to pull it all off, otherwise I'll be throwing on black trousers.

You can find some AMAZING chic and simple black dresses that can be sprinkled up for evening with jewellery and heels - and I always think its better to be overdressed and fabulous than underdressed!

We held a conference a few weeks ago. Dress code was corporate casual, not exactly tailored business suits but smart tailored trousers, silk shirt, blazer and sensible heels. I agree with all the others... Wear what you'd wear to work, because it's at night time and a dinner maybe go a little wild (but still err on the side of caution) with your heels and jewellery

Mmmm..... sounds conservative. I would opt for a safe outfit so a black dress, heels and smart jewelry would suffice.

Hi L, I agree with Linda that I'd dress in fairly conservative attire for a business dinner. A dress or skirt and blouse sound ideal. Then add a little bit of evening glamour with a heel and some make-up and fun jewellery.

When I hear conference, I automatically think, wear what you would wear to work (smart casual) but a little bit more glam. So, I always tend to go, nice high waisted trouser, with a silk button up blouse tucked in, with a nice statement necklace and blazer or cardigan incase it's a little chilly. If you want to wear a skirt, make sure that its not to short, keep it business cas to be on the safe side! and a nice heel!! Now you're not too over or under dressed. (hope this helps!)
