what should i wear

my bf was invited for a casual dinner in a nice rest. with his boss and family and couple of his colleauges. I'm thinking to wear a dress and heel, but not sure if it is approprated and will that be too over dressing?

for a casual work dinner with people I don't know well I would go "smart casual", a dress would work for me, as well as dressed up jeans. Also I would avoid fussy accessories and too much make-up. Enjoy the evening!

I like the idea of a feminine dress with a blazer or leather jacket and opaque tights and an ankle boot. Casual yet stylish. Add a vibrant coloured scarf for a pop of colour and an oversized envelope clutch. Witchery, COuntry Road and Sportsgrl all have a great selection of scarves, while Colette by Colette Hayman have a fab - and inexpensive - range of clutches.

Hi! I'd err on the side of conservative, treat it like a business event. A great dress and heels is always a winner. Be prepared to ask questions and be interested in their work! :) Enjoy!

Nice restaurant... I'm keen on the dress + heels. If in doubt, keep it simple with a lovely dress, classic heels and pared back jewelery with natural make-up. That way there's less chance of being under OR over dressed. Try not to wear anything too short because you'll just end up conscious of it when you should be enjoying yourself. Your effort won't go un-noticed :) I've added a few ideas here for you: http://pinterest.com/RobeShop/how-to-wear-it/

If it is a casual dinner then i would go for your 'good' jeans, some heels, a funky top and jacket. If you know which restaurant you're going to that could help as well. I assume the BF may wear jeans and a nice shirt, so without matching him, just try and compliment that.
