What colours to wear with cobalt blue heels
I have a love pair of cobalt heels that rarely get worn because I don't know what colours would work. Black overpowers them a bit and they fade into the background with denim jeans. I'd like to wear them with a dress, maybe yellow or pink? What about beige or red? Help!
Cobalt looks great with yellow, tangerine, hot pink and red. These colours will really make your shoes pop!
some grey-white snake skin print leggins would look awesome. I think dark beige in a dress would look awesome with these heels, but be careful not to understate the dress. i would also suggest a matching cobalt clutch. gold also matches-but use it in modesty. give us pics of what you chose!!!
Hi, If you want to "pop" with colour than a colour block option will work well, but you need to combine it with a colour that has the same level of intensity (bright orange, yellow, red, or pink).Use an accessory such as a necklace.hairpiece, bracelet or ring in the same cobalt blue to bring attention back up to your face. You could go for a split complementary -blue with purple or blue with green (same intensity) or a triad such as blue with red or yellow & (black/white). Show us your pic! Joanne
Here is a link to one of my outfit posts on my blog where I combined a number of bright colours. I hope this helps, have fun with it and I am sure you will look great! http://www.alexanderandjade.blogspot.com.au/2012/03/little-brighter.html
I love mixing bright colours and there are so many fun combinations you can play with. I think cobalt shoes would look great with a range of other bright colours like red, orange, yellow, pink or fuchsia. I agree with Val that incorporating the cobalt blue somewhere else, like an accessory, would really bring it all together. Colour blocking is one of my favourite trends and although it can be a little intimidating to start with once you start mixing bright colours it's hard to stop!
For "pop", keep your colours with the same level of brightness as the blue - strong yellow, fuschia, red would be amazing & work with the BLOCKING trend which is hot now. Be careful with kelly greens - can be a bit too xmas-y. Cream could work well too - it will be more ELEGANT than the "pop" colours. With all these mixes tho, take the cobalt back to something else in the outfit - a belt or earrings or bracelets or a bag (but not all of those at once). Val
